It looks like this autumn’s new Apple Watch model may be an unusually major update. New reports add to the weight of evidence that Apple plans to give the watch its first proper design revamp, featuring squared-off edges and a new AirPods Max-esque green colour finish, as well as including an optical blood glucose meter, MacRumors writes.
According to the Korean-language site ET News, Apple has developed the technology for measuring blood sugar with sound and optics, and the Series 7 can therefore become the first product on the market with non-invasive blood sugar measurement. If this is accurate, it would be a huge step forward and could make life easier for millions of diabetics.
In early May, it was revealed that Apple had become the British firm Rockley Photonics’ largest customer, which is significant because that company specialises in optical blood analysis.
