The Apple Watch Series 9 isn’t a huge upgrade over the Series 8 (or even the Series 7 fir that matter), but it’s still the best smartwatch you can buy. Especially when it’s cheaper than ever: Amazon is selling the 41mm Apple Watch Series 9 for $349 and the 45mm Apple Watch Series 9 for $379, a savings of $50 each and the lowest price we’ve seen so far.
The Apple Watch Series 9 has a new S9 chip that’s faster and smarter than previous generations with a new four-core Neural Engine. Otherwise it has the same 41mm or 45mm displays as the Series 8 with the same array of sensors: ECG, blood-oxygen, heart-rate, and temperature. You’ll also get 18-hour battery life, 50 meters of water resistance, Emergency SOS and Crash Detection, and the new double-tap gesture that lets you control apps without touching the screen.
