Meghalaya Tour Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Guwahati – Drive to Shillong
Arrive at Guwahati Airport and drive to Shillong, stopping at scenic Umiam Lake. Spend the evening exploring Police Bazaar or relaxing in a local café.
Day 2: Shillong Sights & Laitlum Canyon Views
Start the day with a visit to Don Bosco Museum, then head to Laitlum Canyon for stunning hilltop views. Return to Shillong for an evening walk or cozy dinner.
Day 3: Sacred Forest of Mawphlang & Whistling Village
Visit the sacred Mawphlang forest with a local guide, then head to Kongthong, the “Whistling Village.” Stay in a homestay and experience Khasi village life.
Day 4: Bamboo Trail Trek to Mawryngkhang – Drive to Cherrapunji
Drive to Wahkhen for the thrilling Mawryngkhang Bamboo Trek, crossing bamboo bridges to the “King of Stones.” After the hike, continue to Cherrapunji and check into an eco-lodge.
Day 5: Explore Caves, Waterfalls & Local Life in Cherrapunji
Explore Mawsmai and Arwah caves, then visit Nohkalikai and Seven Sisters Falls. Add ziplining at Mawkdok Valley for adventure before resting in Cherrapunji.
Day 6: Trek to Nongriat – The Double Decker Root Bridge
Trek down to Nongriat village to see the iconic Double Decker Living Root Bridge. Optional hike to Rainbow Falls before staying overnight in a jungle guesthouse.
Day 7: Return Trek – Drive to Mawlynnong & Riwai
Hike back to Tyrna and drive to Mawlynnong, stopping at Riwai’s peaceful root bridge. Explore the village, skywalk, and enjoy a homestay experience.
Day 8: Crystal Waters of Dawki & Shnongpdeng
Drive to Dawki for a crystal-clear boat ride on the Umngot River, then head to Shnongpdeng for cliff jumping, kayaking, or riverside camping under the stars.
Day 9: Long Drive to Tura – Into the Garo Hills
Take a long scenic drive to Tura in the Garo Hills, passing tribal markets en route. Check into an eco-resort and relax amid forested surroundings.
Day 10: Nokrek National Park & Siju Caves – Departure
Visit Nokrek National Park for wildlife and orchids; explore Siju Caves if time allows. After lunch, begin your return to Guwahati, ending your Meghalaya adventure.
